Voxcentra are visiting South Creake Saturday 25 May, 19.30 Voxcetera a chamber choir from London, celebrating 10 years of performing choral music in many and varied venues including the prestigious St Martin-in-the Fields, the South Bank Centre and the British Library, as well as overseas tours and recording work, is visiting The Old Chapel. For their first visit to Norfolk they are excited to share with you a concert featuring both traditional sacred choral music and gorgeous arrangements of popular folk songs and other light and lovely fare. The Yorke Trust Summer Opera – The Tempest by Henry Purcell The Tempest or Enchanted Land by Henry Purcell, adapted by John Dryden and William D’Avenant from Shakespeare’s comedy, The Tempest.
The Yorke Trust’s thrilling production is conducted by award-winning Christopher McMullen Laird and directed by Jennifer Hamilton. A period instrumental ensemble accompanies the production, led by the outstanding young violinist Conor Gricmanis. The soloists are drawn from music conservatoires and once again,The Yorke Trust Community Choristers will sing the choruses under the direction of Sue Valentine.
